A Message from Our President, Craig Guttmann
Hello & Welcome to the Algood Casters website.
In 1969, my father Max started this company with a product line consisting of one caster for the furniture industry. Today, our catalogue displays over 25 million caster configurations. While much has changed over the decades, we are still defined by those inherent qualities that have remained vital and constant over the years.
Our 60,000 square foot facility just outside of Toronto is a fully integrated production centre. With in-house die making, metal stamping and injection moulding operations, we are one North America’s largest caster manufacturers and can meet almost every customer requirement. Our on-site design and engineering departments allow us to go from concept to drawings to prototype to finished product in weeks. On top of that, we offer production timelines that are untouchable by off-shore suppliers and pricing that has been developed with budgets in mind.
Algood is a 21st century caster enterprise. Our success is built on true craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the expertise that can only comes with experience and the pride of producing a quality caster. We know every part, every ounce of material and every minute of work that goes into creating an Algood caster.
This is not a corporate sub-division. Every caster or wheel that leaves our manufacturing facility has our name stamped on it and we take pride in that. It’s a stamp that says we stand behind our products and guarantee their quality. Our documented 99% quality assurance record is proof of that. Our employees are treated with care and respect. In turn, they put the needs of our customers at the forefront of everything they do.
It would be a pleasure for our paths to cross and work together, please feel free to contact me to discuss your caster requirements.
Stay ahead of the competition with our weekly caster deep-dive. We'll send you product news, useful information and industry perspectives.

Here in Toronto, as we enter the third quarter, the weather has turned dramatically colder. It feels like autumn. That may be the clearest signal facing us. The economy, global politics, the caster industry and even our own customers are all sending mixed signals. You are likely facing some of the same unpredictability. In the […]
A significant benefit of being a North American Caster Manufacturer is the ability to improve product design in response to operational issues that are brought to our attention. Our ALK Brake mechanism is located in the lead position of the caster and is engaged by stepping on the toe of the brake. That securely and positively locks…
Our 5000 Series are the most versatile casters we make. They come with an incredible array of options, including plates, stems, brakes, wheels and finishes. In addition, this is a caster that can be configured for just about any application. With a capacity of 450 lbs., the 5000 Series can handle an overall equipment load of more than 1,800 lbs.
These hooded twin wheel casters are manufactured with the highest quality nylon material and are BIFMA approved. And they make equipment look fantastic! It’s no wonder they are a staple of the office furniture and home entertainment industries. The 300 Series casters are available in three sizes – 40 mm, 50 mm and 60 mm and have a maximum capacity of 125 lbs.
These are the strongest wheels we sell. They are drop forged from ASTM 1045 high-carbon steel and are practically indestructible. With a maximum capacity of 20,000 lbs, there is almost no payload that forged steel wheels won’t bear. Forged steel is an alloy of carbon and iron that is compressed under extreme pressure to make a very hard and strong substance.
